Opened by right clicking the 2D map and selecting Options > Snap options (or by pressing F3), these settings allow you to set options to related to automatic alignment of monster and object’s X/Y/Z values while placing.

Snap alignment

Global setting to enable/disable snap alignment and all snap options. Note: The S key can be held while clicking to temporarily override (enable) this until it’s released.

Match distance

When aligning a selected monster or object with another of the same type and section, this option automatically adjusts the distance between them based on others on the same axis. This option requires at least two others of the same type and section to be on the axis.

  • Example:

If there are two Belras at X: 50 that are 30 units apart on the Z axis, placing a third monster on or near X: 50 will automatically set it exactly 30 units away from whichever you place it closest to.

Match rotation

When aligning a selected monster or object with another of the same type and section, this option automatically matches its rotation value(s) with the one it’s aligned with.

Match Y value

When aligning a selected monster or object with another of the same type and section, this option automatically matches its Y value with the one it’s aligned with.

Anchor limit

Sets the maximum distance in units that the selected monster/object and another can be to align them.

Snap tolerance

Sets the number of units of leeway when looking for a monster/object to align with. With the default value of 10, this means that it will snap align any monster/object within +/- 10 units of your selection’s X or Z value (In 3D View this also applies to the selection's Y value, for stacking monsters/objects vertically.)
